About Anita Miragaya
Anita is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a board approved supervisor. For the last 15 years in various roles, Anita has worked with children, young people, parents and adults. She has worked with a wide range of presentations such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, adjustment, stress, eating and body related concerns, perfectionism, emotion management, sleep, relationship difficulties and workplace issues. Anita has extensive experience working with neurodiverse people. She has also worked with frontline personnel including military, veterans and emergency service personnel.
As a clinician, Anita aims to create a supportive, collaborative and a non-judgemental space that allows her clients to experience acceptance, flexibility and to move towards living a meaningful and fulfilling life. Whilst she is trained across multiple different therapy approaches, Anita flexibly employs different therapy modes based on the individual needs and circumstances of the client in front of her.
Anita has a passion for supporting parents and families so that they can best support their children. She is a certified provider of Cool Kids, Chilled, Tuning into Kids, Tuning into Teens and Circle of Security. Her work with parents is based on a rich understanding of attachment, emotion coaching, and the impact of metaemotion and lived histories on parenting.
She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and has experience using Schema Therapy. She also has an interest in Parts and Family Systems Therapy.
