About Kelly Chen

Kelly is the heart behind Tranquil Trails Counselling and Therapy. With a background and experience with neurodiversity and trauma, she has both deep empathy and a real-world understanding of the challenges families face.

Kelly holds a Master of Counselling, as well as postgraduate degrees in MBA and Marketing. Along the way, she has also trained in areas such as Oppositional & Defiant Behaviours, the SoSafe program, Gottman Couple Therapy (Level 2), and behavioural technician practice. This mix of therapeutic expertise and systems thinking equips her to work with a holistic, client-focused mindset — addressing individual needs while considering the broader family, school, and community systems that shape each person’s life.

Kelly supports neurodivergent children, young people, and families through positive behaviour support, counselling, psychotherapy, and early intervention. Her approach is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and relationship-focused. She integrates a range of therapeutic practices — from Play Therapy and cognitive and behavioural based strategies to Attachment and Emotion-Focused Therapy — always tailoring support to each person’s stage of life and unique strengths.

Kelly speaks both English and Mandarin, and is passionate about making services accessible to culturally and linguistically diverse as well as neurodiverse communities.

Above all, she believes in creating safe and inclusive spaces where families feel heard and understood, young people feel respected, and practical strategies help everyone thrive.
