About Fiona (Fi) Xu

Fi is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi). She holds a Master of Professional Psychology, Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science, and Bachelor of Commerce. She has experience working with young people at headspace and adults in forensic settings.
Fi works with individuals and couples experiencing a broad range of mental health issues with particular interests in interpersonal concerns, self-esteem and self-growth, ‘surviving to thriving,’ digital wellbeing, trauma-related concerns, family conflict, emotional self-awareness, negative patterns, and diverse cultural contexts. She is LGBTQIA affirming and works with all relationship types and structures (including ENM).
Fi is passionate about working from a holistic, person-centred, and trauma-informed perspective. She strives to combine evidence-based approaches to fit each person’s unique needs and situation. She is culturally sensitive and has a deep understanding of the ways culture shapes people, and the importance of each person’s context to their identity.
Fi works collaboratively with clients and believes a strong therapeutic relationship makes a huge difference to enhancing self-growth and wellbeing. She strives to provide a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where any concern can be discussed without fear of judgement.
